Director of Finance, Accounting, and Administration

We are seeking a Director of Finance, Accounting, and Administration who is experienced with project-based accrual accounting, enjoys hands-on work as well as management, is highly collaborative, and has a strong work ethic to lead our administrative and finance team.
- Directing the finance, accounting, and administrative functions of our multiple business lines, including billing, accounts receivable and payable, general ledger, financial statements and reports, payroll and benefits programs. Work includes some hands-on duties.
- Establishing and overseeing implementation of processes, policies, and procedures to ensure financial and operating controls, manage risk, and ensure smooth administrative functioning.
- Developing, training, and supervising accounting and administrative staff to assure that functions are administered in an accurate, timely manner.
- Developing and administering Company cash flow to assure that working and growth capital needs are addressed, and that the Company meets its obligations.
- Preparing regular financial statements according to generally accepted accounting principles.
- Developing management reports and meeting regularly with Company management team to assist with monitoring of performance trends and key indicators. Recommending action to improve productivity, margins, and profitability, and manage expenses. Serving as internal consultant to senior managers to assist with development of plans and decision-making.
- Participating in Company strategic and annual business planning process. Directly responsible for preparation of Company’s operating and capital budgets, with input from senior managers.
- Evaluating and administering Company business requirements, including banking, credit, and contracts.
- Administering general, commercial, and professional liability, employee benefit, and Officer’s insurance programs. Regularly reviewing costs and company requirements, and recommending modifications to CEO as appropriate. Interfacing and negotiating with brokers to assure that the Company has the most cost-effective programs.
- Interfacing with independent Company CPA for tax planning, annual reporting and other required independent financial reports, subject to the direction of the CEO.
- Overseeing the maintenance, review, and improvement of Company financial management information systems and technology.
- B.A. in Accounting; C.P.A. a plus.
- Successful experience working with small to mid-size rapid growth firm.
- Knowledge of and experience with state governmental contracting regulations and procedures preferrable.
- Experience leading information management system conversions desirable. (Experience with DelTek a plus).
- Strong interpersonal skills, organization, ability to coordinate and collaborate with diverse work styles and personalities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while also contributing to the office's dynamic, collaborative environment.

Graphic Designer
We are seeking a Graphic Designer who is creative, collaborative, and has a strong work ethic to contribute to communications programs for our clients who are primarily in the education, public service, nonprofit, and community engagement sectors.
- Experience in current and emerging design and marketing communications strategies and technologies.
- Ability to develop and execute creative concepts and communicate key messages and narratives using demonstrated expertise with visual design in printed collateral and digital platforms. (Please submit samples.)
- Ability to ensure all design work aligns with individual client brand guidelines and upholds a cohesive brand identity across all communications.
- Collaboration with team members to understand project requirements, target audiences, and desired outcomes. Participation in project brainstorm/discovery meetings.
- Strong interpersonal skills, organization, and ability to coordinate/collaborate with diverse work styles and personalities.
- Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while also contributing to the team's dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Participation in team meetings both remotely and in person.
- Solid understanding of print and digital production processes and file delivery.
- Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite required. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Canva, and Asana also appreciated.

Senior Account Associate
We are seeking a Senior Associate who is creative, collaborative and has a strong work ethic to lead communications programs for clients in the education and public affairs sectors.
- Experience in current and emerging communications strategies and tactics.
- Ability to communicate key messages and narratives utilizing expertise with press releases, written collateral, social media, photo, web and/or video. (Please submit samples.)
- Strong interpersonal skills, organization, ability to coordinate/collaborate with diverse work styles and personalities.
- Ability to work independently, be self-directed, and manage multiple projects simultaneously, while also contributing to the office's dynamic, collaborative environment.
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, PR, or related field.
- At least two years (more is better!) of experience in journalism, PR or related field preferred.
- Computer skills (more is better), driver's license/car, comfort navigating Southern California streets/freeways/communities.
- Leading communications programs to support clients' brands and initiatives using diverse platforms, including written collateral, social media, video, photography, and current and new web-based platforms.
- Developing content for press releases, media advisories, features and brochures to crafting talking points, speeches and web content.
- Use of photography/ videography/ social media to tell a story and/ or support overall communications programs.
- Research and data entry
- Coordination and collaboration with clients, sources and other team members.
- Functioning as a liaison to current and prospective clients.
- Attending and supporting meetings, open houses, and community events.
